What This Is

A real diesel shop — that drives to you.

When your truck dies on the shoulder of I-80 at 2 AM, you don't need a tow to a shop 40 miles away. You need a diesel mechanic with a fully-equipped service truck showing up where you stopped — with the scan tools, parts, and certification to actually fix the problem.

That's what GTS does. We're a mobile diesel mechanic operating across Northeast Ohio, dispatching ASE-certified techs to highway shoulders, truck stops, rest areas, warehouses, and customer yards 24 hours a day. We fix 70–80% of breakdowns on-scene — no tow, no shop wait, no lost loads.

Based in Solon, OH and dispatched across the Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown metros. Average on-scene response: under 60 minutes.

How It Works

From breakdown to back-rolling — the 4-step process.

No phone trees. No "we'll call you back." Every call goes to a live dispatcher with a tech on the way before you hang up.

1

Call (216) 200-8430

Live dispatcher answers 24/7. You'll be asked your location, truck make/year, and the symptoms. We assign the right tech with the right parts before we hang up.

2

Tech dispatched & ETA confirmed

You'll get a confirmed ETA within minutes — not a "we'll be there sometime." Most Cleveland-metro dispatches arrive in under 60 minutes; outer corridors 90–120.

3

On-scene diagnosis & estimate

Tech scans the truck, identifies the issue, and gives you a verbal estimate before touching a tool. If it can't be fixed roadside, we tell you within the first 30 minutes — you pay only the service call.

4

Repaired & invoiced

Repair completed, codes cleared, post-repair test drive (where applicable), and a detailed invoice. Fleet accounts get full PDF service reports for vendor records.

Had issues with regen on truck. Had another company come out before these guys and they wouldn't do anything — sounded like lack of experience. Then I had these guys at GTS come out and had my driver driving down the road within an hour. Great service.

Common Questions

Mobile diesel mechanic — what drivers ask most.

What does a mobile diesel mechanic actually fix on the side of the road?
A qualified mobile diesel mechanic handles 70–80% of heavy-duty breakdowns on-scene. Most common: engine derate clearing, DEF and aftertreatment faults, no-starts, fuel system issues, sensor replacements, alternator and starter swaps, coolant leaks, belt failures, and electrical diagnostics. Tow-required jobs — like dropped transmissions or major engine internal damage — are identified within 30 minutes so you don't pay for wasted shop time.
How fast can a mobile diesel mechanic reach me on I-80 or I-90?
From our Solon, OH dispatch hub, the Cleveland metro and inner I-80, I-90, I-77, I-271, and I-480 corridors are reached in under 60 minutes on average. Akron, Mentor, and Elyria run 60–90 minutes. Youngstown and Canton typically run 90–120 minutes. We confirm a specific ETA on the dispatch call — not a vague window.
What does a roadside diesel mechanic cost?
Heavy-duty mobile diesel service in Northeast Ohio runs $150–$250 for the service call, plus parts and labor for the repair. Diagnostic-only visits average $150–$200. We give a verbal estimate before any work begins and a detailed invoice on completion. Fleet accounts get pre-negotiated rate structures — ask about it on the dispatch call.
What engines do you service?
All major heavy-duty platforms: Cummins (ISX, ISB, X15, B6.7), Detroit Diesel (DD13, DD15, DD16, Series 60), PACCAR (MX-11, MX-13, PX-7, PX-9), Volvo (D11, D13, D16), Mack (MP7, MP8, MP10), and International (A26, N13, MaxxForce, DT466). We carry the OEM-level scan tools for each platform, not just generic OBD scanners.
Can you clear an engine derate or force a regen on the side of the road?
Yes — assuming the underlying fault is repairable on-scene. We diagnose the root cause first (DPF soot loading, DEF quality, NOx sensor, doser, EGR, sensor fault), perform the repair, then clear the active codes and force a regen where appropriate. Clearing a derate without fixing the cause is a waste of your time — the truck will derate again within hours. We don't do that.
Do you work on trucks with fleet billing or national fleet cards?
Yes. We process Comdata, EFS, T-Chek, and most major fleet payment programs, plus direct fleet billing for established accounts. For first-time fleet onboarding, email [email protected] — we can typically get COI, W-9, and rate sheets to your AP team within one business day.
What if you can't fix my truck on the road?
If a repair needs shop equipment we can't carry — clutch replacement, transmission work, major internal engine damage — we identify it within the first 15–30 minutes, charge only the service call (not full diagnostic time), and coordinate a heavy-duty tow to a qualified shop. You don't pay for hours of wasted work, and you don't sit there for two hours waiting for us to figure out we can't help.
Are your techs ASE certified?
Yes — all dispatched diesel techs hold ASE certifications relevant to heavy-duty truck repair (T-series). We're fully insured with commercial liability and garage keepers coverage. Certificates of insurance are available on request for fleet vendor onboarding.
